Keeping Up With The Jones’ Can Take Your Eyes Off the Prize in Online Betting

by Online Betting Sites on July 26, 2010

In all games of chance there are winners and losers. This is especially true of online betting. You might go into online betting thinking that your progress or loss will be invisible other viewers, and to some extent it is.

But there are stats going and being posted all the time. While you’re losing a game, you will know that other people are winning, and winning big. This can be hard for the newcomer to betting. Many people that are not used to dealing with this sort of feeling of disappointment are attracted to online betting at first. Casinos make it obvious who’s winning and who’s losing. But online, everybody has a screen name and everything seems anonymous at first. But then all of a sudden you’ve lost your first game, or you’re only winning $5 at a time, and you see the same screen name pop-up winning $50, $70, $20. This is quite a frustrating feeling that can be even more frustrating than watching a casino winner. Casino winners win a hand, or a slot pull and cheer and it’s over. Maybe they go on a streak, but it’s over after awhile.

Online betting is different though. Online betting moves at a very fast pace, and watching someone win repeatedly in such a short period of time can be very distracting if you’re currently losing money. The best way to avoid this negative emotional cloud is to simply understand it for what it is. You will lose sometimes. Betting is betting. You’re taking a chance. You will not always win when it comes to betting.

Someone else’s repeated wins have nothing to do with you because chances are they have more experience than you or they just have more money than you. Even if they win all year long, you shouldn’t concern yourself or get down on yourself because of it. As an online gambler you can expect to win some games and lose some games. And if you always make it a point to bet only money that you can afford to lose, then your losses will not be drastic and you will be able to build up a nice stack of money through your betting.

If you start out with your gambling only able to wager $20 a week, then so be it. There’s nothing wrong with this. You might just want to wager the $20 in one day or spread it out over the week. So if you start out in July of one year and wager $20/week, Let’s say one week you make $45, the next week you make $27, the next week you lose your $20 and the next week you make $70–as your talent for the game grows–and the last week of the month you make $35. In that month you’ve pulled in an extra $82. If you continue to play the same way you can double these earnings every month. If you continue to increase your winnings every month you can find yourself close to earning $100,000 in 12 months of online betting. So why should you concern yourself with someone else’s online betting wins or losses?
